Whoa, i came back to give a decent grave to this board, and it seems it is still alive ^^U.

Well, my current games are very arcade ones, very light. Outrun 2006 and, well, the very mother of all the good MMORPG's, Unreal Tournament 2003, i finally got it.

Bought a WORKING copy of Grandia 2 because my older bro gave me his scratched one. Played through that and realized it would make a cool movie. Shortly realized soon afterward that it would be an abysmal failure due to MANY imperfections that would make me just say screw it.

Im at University now, so its hard to find time to beat epics like these. Its a shame, considering they all came out just as the new academic year started (and after so many months/years of waiting...).

Surprisingly enough, Xenosaga III is the most commendable of the three, providing a greater sense of adventure than the linear 30 hour button mash that is Kingdom Hearts II. And furthermore, somehow this game justifies playing through the trainwreck that was Episode II; acclaim im certain MonolithSoft were aiming for, having clearly worked hard to adress the major criticisms of the first two installments (such as battle speed, loading times, BGM, character designs etc...). Meanwhile, although Subsistence is an excellent addition to my Metal Gear collection, a lot of the content is wasted on me, having beaten the original Snake Eater 4 times already, and being unable to go online with it at Uni. currently i got a game of casltevania: curse of darkness going. i'd say i'm about 75% through it.

recently i beat mortal kombat shaolin monks with liu kang. annoying with those bruce lee yells, but it's worth it for unlocking scorp. still gonna do kung laos game to unlock sub-zero first though.

unlocked half the monsters in godzilla: destroy all monsters mellee.

gotta figure out wtf i'm doing in the area of indigo prophecy i'm in.

and on top of that i gotta survive doom 3. i don't think the last save i made was anywhere after the action starts.

The multiplayer in Gears of War sounds very interesting; im liking the hide'n'seek element of the gameplay. The 360 really needed a killer app like this, and with the impending releases of the other next gen consoles it couldnt have been better timed. Things are looking very comfortable for Microsoft this christmas, especially in the PS3 absent european market.

Playing Pro Evolution Soccer 6, and waiting patiently for my copy of Elite Beat Agents to arrive.

I want to get a new-generation console for Christmas.

Nintendo more or less segaed itself and doesn't have games that intest me. The PS3 is full of AIDS and they keep assraping Europe, even though we are their first console market. That's right, they sold more PS2s here than anywhere else this year, and as a reward, they fuck us. I'm left with trusting Microsoft, not because they deserve it (they suck and do shit as well), it's just that Sony overtook them in the suck line.

The Xbox 360 has its share of digital AIDS as well, and the Japanese still enjoy regional locking their games because they must have a complex with us or something and want to have exclusive games. (They're advertising 50 exclusive games for Japan. Since when did exclusivity become a feature? "Lol, only we can play this game, our collective e-peen is huge" (real one not so? [img]tongue.gif[/img] ).

The problem is, to buy a new system, I need 5 games I want to buy. I'm keeping my traditional rule. So far, I have 4 games I want to play on Xbox 360. I've the last three at a friend's.

1. Lost Odyssey. Sounds like Final Fantasy, only not failing.
2. Kameo. Awesome game, pretty entertaining and lots of eye-candy, and the music is a nice break from all the hard rock in all games making me mute my TV.
3. Enchanted Arms. Not the best, but a new cRPG nonetheless, and save for that blonde faggot in your party at the beginning of the game ( [img]tongue.gif[/img] ), it looks entertaining.
4. Test Drive Unlimited. This is like Oblivion for cars. I've actually enjoyed driving through the island for the sake of driving, respecting traffic rules and all.

But I'm lacking a fifth game. There's this awesome game that would half-justify the console by itself, Eternal Sonata (AKA Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream), which is awesome as fuck: an anime-style cRPG with impressive music, visuals and setting, about Chopin. Things can hardly get any better. In fact, I had thought it would be an awesome idea to have an RPG protagonist that kills enemies by frantically playing a violin; that would be the most badass character ever. And this one gets pretty close (he's a musician, and the sword has strings). So this game rocks. The problem is it's not yet announced for Europe. They only talked about an American release, and since all good things come with built-in territorial AIDS/racism, I can't expect it to be playable here, even if I took the time and extra money to get to know it and import it, and I didn't mind the fact the game is not translated into my local language like any other product is. Even if I wanted to spend money fixing the broken, malfunctioning hardware they sell me by installing a modchip, the good people still haven't found a way to remove territorial AIDS.

So I hope I can find a fifth game I want to play before Christmas (or perhaps they can confirm Eternal Sonata).

I'm open for suggestions, although I want this game to be a Japanese-style game.

BTW, if you're going to mention Sonic the Hedgehog, don't bother, I don't want it. Tried the demo, same crap as Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes: you keep falling off. I fucking hate falling off. Every time I fall off I want to punch Yuji Naka. But he's too busy counting my money to notice. Oh, and I hate rails. I fucking hate rails. You need to grind over a hair, and everywhere else there's void. Touch a button when falling over a rail because you think you're playing an interactive action game, and you're fucked. Try to do anything, and you're fucked. Bah, Sonic is dead, morons didn't know how to go 3D (even though Sonic Adventure 1 was a very good start; I guess it was not to get better, but it was the transition from great to sucky), and morons are too stupid to go back to 2D. Now they are worried about their 47th new character, a cyan hedgehog with lots of personality: he likes speed, and he likes uh... lava lamps. In every cut-scenes, you're reminded how much he likes speed and lava lamps. Such deep personalities. Oh and a Sonic FPS featuring Shadow the Hedgehog, Ursula the Thylacine, and (incidentally) Sonic the Hedgehog is just a matter of time.

With regards to my views, every time a Sony rep utters a word on the PS3, i feel more repelled by it. Its like they're actually trying to divide their fanbase; high price, low supply, delayed european release, buggy PSX emulation (click here for more information), and not a single apology or concession of defeat for any of it. I'll predict it'll be worth it in 2 years, when the firmware bugs have been attended to, the price has halved, and all the big budget franchise titles have come out, but for now, the only reason you could possibly consider paying that much money for it is boasting rights. I'll leave the elitist gamers and spoilt kids to it.

Meanwhile, the 360 is shaping up to be a formidable contender to the next gen throne, with killer app games like Gears of War beginning to find release (and just in time for the competition). Also, im finding myself more and more attracted to it for its deluxe XBox Live online service, with fond memories of Halo 2 and the potential for an even fonder experience with Halo 3 weighing in quite heavily as well. Right now though, i simply dont have the money for it, and with Halo 3 still a good few months away im sure i can resist its charms this christmas.

So, after a lot of chin-stroking i finally committed myself to a Wii pre-order. Being the cheapest, and the seemingly more enjoyable of the three (at least immediately), even the murmerings of its comparatively underwhelming graphics and an upcoming DVD-video compatible version of the console havent upset my resolve. Upcoming, theres the standard Nintendo exclusive staple of SSBB, Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy, as well as one particular Sega project i cant be too specific about (although i'll guarantee Saturn fans will rejoice for it). Im very excited for it, and i already see enough justification to buy it in the launch line-up, with Zelda Twilight Princess and Monkey Ball Banana Blitz being the two main highlights.

Until its release on the 8th, however, i'll be too busy with Uni work to be able to play anything. Simply no time...
